What's the URL of the page containing the problem?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use double colon as a searched phrase

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
At least a detailed explanation for the incorrect search term/phrase is shown to the user. I was not able to convert this double colon query to a syntactically correct form. Instead a 500 error page is loaded.

What operating system are you using? What browser?

For 2.0, we're replacing the pylucene backend entirely, because it's way too buggy and complex. Because of this, we're not going to be fixing any issues in the old backend.
