http://reviews.reviewboard.org/ What version are you running? 1.5 What's the URL of the page this enhancement relates to, if any? N/a Describe the enhancement and the motivation for it. A few members of our development team have asked for this feature, specifically because they prefer text e-mails, and that sometimes, long comments in the HTML e-mails do not seem to wrap properly. What operating system are you using? What browser? Ubuntu Lucid, Firefox 3.6 Please provide any additional information below. Might be a personal account setting, something like that. If you decide that you'd like to implement this feature request, it might make a decent beginner project.
I need to turn this into a FAQ entry. It's been asked a few times. Since Review Board has to send to multiple people, it doesn't make sense to have a server-side option for this. You'd have to send two e-mails to everybody, and that's even worse. If using mailing lists (which is pretty common) then you're absolutely out of luck. This is why we send as a multi-part e-mail, which includes both the HTML and text e-mails. If your e-mail client lets you turn off HTML e-mails (many do) then you'll see the plain text e-mails instead. I wouldn't be opposed to such a feature, except it's just not possible.

Thanks for your response. I kind of disagree. It may be interesting to allow RB instance admins to turn off multipart-emailing entirely. That, I think, would be easily possible. I'm envisioning the following: 1.) Send multipart emails per default 2.) If admin configures instance with option "multipart emails off" only plain text emails are sent and the admin is to blame if that's not to the liking of users. Why would admins want that? * multipart-emails are more likely to get caught in spam filters * increased size of each email - which may or may not be an issue Thanks!
